[1] The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, more commonly known as Proposition 65, is a California law that requires the State to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm and to inform citizens of such chemicals and their affects. One of these chemicals, Acrylamide, is a naturally occurring chemical that develops when certain sugars and amino acids are cooked at a high temperature causing a chemical reaction. Acrylamide is found mainly in plant foods, such as potato products, grain products, or coffee, possibly including the coffee included in Midwest Coffee Culture’ Subscription Services. Your risk of cancer is affected by a variety of factors and differs per individual. If you suspect symptoms, consult a doctor immediately. For more information on Acrylamide, visit For more information on Acrylamide as it relates to coffee, visit
